Lesley-Anne Down, merely a decade into her young life, made a splash as a professional model and developed in stature — and structure — as her beauty blossomed before the camera’s eye. Born in Wandsworth, South West London, England, on March 17, 1954, Lesley-Anne’s modeling work led her to win “Britain’s most beautiful teenager” when she was 15. Eventually, the engaging Englishwoman stormed the screen in her native country, making her debut in the British drama The Smashing Bird I Used to Know (1969). She went on to appear in works with provocative titles such as School for Unclaimed Girls (1969), All the Right Noises (1969) — moan, moan — and Countess Dracula (1970), which raised Mr. Skin‘s stake. But it was on TV that Lesley-Anne got down, first with To Lay a Ghost (1971) and most famously, in Upstairs, Downstairs (1971). To see Lesley-Anne’s upstairs, you have to wait a few years. In The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976), Leslie-Anne offers us a very quick nip slip. In The Betsy (1978), there’s a quick glimpse of her hooter handfuls in a rollicking sex scene. Then in Hanover Street (1979), Lesley-Anne strips out of her silky top. But her downstairs has been off limits. And with her reign as the queen of daytime with her role on soap operas such as Sunset Beach (1997), Days of Our Lives (2001), and The Bold and the Beautiful (2003), it’s unlikely she’ll be letting us down there for a view.
